Latest Construction Project Updates

We maintain open communication with our community throughout every phase of our construction projects.

UPDATE: June 19 - Above-grade demolition activities have now been successfully completed. Demolition of the existing foundation is currently underway and will continue through the end of June.

As we transition into the next phase of construction, the project will move into shoring and excavation activities. This phase will involve the installation of temporary support systems around the excavation area, followed by the removal of existing soils to prepare the site for the new building foundation.

During this period, neighbours and community may notice increased construction activity, including:

• Operation of larger construction equipment and machinery;
• Increased truck traffic associated with material removal and delivery;
• Increased intermittent noise and vibration related to shoring installation and excavation activities

As part of this transition, access along the East Victoria Street sidewalk will be impacted due to the revised hoarding configuration. This adjustment is required to support safe construction operations while minimizing impacts to traffic flow and maintaining the necessary space for construction activities within the site.

The project team will work closely with the appropriate authorities to ensure pedestrian and traffic impacts are safely managed, with clear signage and alternate routing provided as required. We appreciate the community’s understanding and cooperation as we implement these measures to support a safe and efficient construction process.

The project team will continue to implement measures to minimize impacts to the surrounding community, including maintaining a clean and organized site, managing truck movements, and adhering to all applicable safety and environmental requirements.
